Speech title

Building regional alliances for health equity

Abstract

As countries move fast towards the Sustainable Development Goals, it is possible they may tend to leave the vulnerable and marginalized behind. This can happen within countries and much more across borders. It is therefore important for countries to form regional alliances to ensure that they are consciously striving to address the universal needs of the region and not just of their own borders. The Asia eHealth Information Network is a unique organization in the region that has been able to nurture a community of practice around eHealth and digital health development. Since its inception, AeHIN has assisted its member countries through the complex challenges posed by the merging of health and information technology. This talk will discuss the best practices and lessons learned of a peer network like AeHIN.
